Dystopia
Menswear fashion project
In my second year at LASALLE College of the Arts, I developed Dystopia, a menswear collection that explored the subtleties of tailored menswear. The collection included an engineered printed formal shirt paired with embroidered trousers.
Uniformity reflects rules, structure, and the absence of detail. Living in a world shaped by laws, propaganda, and subtle utopias, I wanted my collection to explore what dystopia means today. It transforms utopian tension into dystopian visions of individualism, with prints and silhouettes that subtly break uniformity. Inspired by the quote, “The eyes scream what the lips cannot,” the collection engages with political tension and identity in a kitsch, satirical way. The garments challenge conventional construction, allowing the wearer to control their silhouette and express themselves uniquely.
